If life gives you hackneyed cliches and homespun parables, you are an unimaginative, slope-browed troglodyte, most likely working as a sitcom show runner or writing romantic comedies.

A lot of blood, sweat, and tears has gone into the production of “KRANTZ,” a short story about a man who in an egomaniacal quest to fill his ancestors’ mayoral shoes has fallen quite a long way.
I decided to make a full-fledged short film last fall and, after writing two scripts that I subsequently threw out, I wrote KRANTZ. We filmed it over two weekends in January, during one of which I had an incredible flu that threatened to cave in my chest like a rotten beehive.
If you’re in the LA area, you are more than welcome to come out and see it at CineSpace tonight! Doors open at 8pm. Come have a drink at the bar and hang out with us before the screening starts at 9.
Dave and James Codeglia did an amazing job helping me create this film from the ground up, Will Greenberg incredibly brought not one but TWO characters to life, and Natalie Urquhart flew in from Canada just to be in this film and play Will’s hyper-eccentric wife.
Add to the mix Scott Gairdner and his editing prowess, Alfred Montejano’s musical gifts, Prokopiak’s makeup and costume skills, along with a slew of other people who contributed, and I think we have something of which we’re very proud.
Before the film begins, Brad Conlin will be showing a brand new animated short, which will definitely be worth checking out.
